Qudian Inc. (“Qudian” or the “Company”) (NYSE: QD), a leading provider of online small consumer credit products in China, today announced that Mr. Chao Zhu resigned as director of the board of directors (“Board”) and member of the Compensation Committee, effective on December 8, 2018. With this change, the Board will achieve majority independence.
The Board has appointed Mr. Rong Shengwen, an independent director of the Board and member of the Audit Committee since August 24, 2018, to fill the Compensation Committee position vacated by Mr. Zhu, effective on December 10, 2018.
